We are happy to go above and beyond to make sure our employed immigrants receive a warm welcome. Our recently appointed Technical Manager, Emiel Thysse, is a great example of this.
Originating from South Africa, Emiel made the big move to New Zealand back in September to start his journey with us here at The Measurement & Calibration Centre. Unfortunately, his family were unable to join him at the time and had to stay back in their hometown for a while, meaning Emiel had to start the journey on his own.
Through our comprehensive relocation package, we were able to successfully assist Emiel with setting up his new life in Auckland. This included paying for his flights, accommodation, and immigration lawyer. We provided him with a vehicle and connected him with fellow South Africans in the community, including previous MCC employees who had made the move.
We also partnered with the expert resettlement team at Mobile Relocation who specialise in helping people get settled in New Zealand, ensuring they are set up here quickly and effectively, ready to start new roles and new lives. The team successfully integrated Emiel into his new life here – from making sure he had groceries for his first week, to supporting him through the house hunting process, as well as setting him up with the right bank and enrolling his children into schools.
After 3 long months on his own, Emiel’s family have finally arrived just in time for the summer break and are now looking forward to beginning their new chapter together.
All that matters now is that they are here, and our new life can finally begin.
